Volunteers who dedicate at least 40 hours per year to NOPA receive a free annual membership.
L. Kasimu Harris, Chair: the Communications Committee oversees the marketing and publicity of NOPA programs and mission. The committee also solicits, edits, and produces content for NOPA’s website, newsletter, and other print and electronic materials.
Arthur Severio, Chair: the Development Committee oversees the fundraising and development efforts of the organization including fundraising events, grant writing and research, and event and festival sponsorship.
Edna Lanieri, Chair” the Education Committee oversees the design and production of all workshops, community education projects, and educational materials related to NOPA exhibitions.
Jennifer Williams, Chair: the Exhibitions Committee oversees the logistics of all NOPA exhibitions and recommends community, juried, and curated exhibitions to the Board of Directors for production.
Grant Program Committee
Zack Smith, Chair: the Grant Program committee oversees NOPA’s two grant programs, the Michael P. Smith Fund for Documentary Photography and the Clarence John Laughlin Award for Fine Art Photography.
Jennifer Shaw, Artistic Director and Linka Odom, Volunteer Coordinator: The PhotoNOLA Committee oversees the production of NOPA’s premier event, the PhotoNOLA Festival of Photography. Committee members work together to plan programs, workshops, the PhotoGALA, PhotoWALK, and CURRENTS, the NOPA member showcase at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. All are welcome!
Julie Verlinden, Chair: the Program Committee oversees the design and execution of all NOPA community programs including 2md Tuesdays at NOPA, the artist talk series, and the production of UnderExposed (also previously known as PhotoNOMA).
