PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT is as integral to one’s practice as making the work itself. The New Orleans Photo Alliance welcomes Saul Robbins to New Orleans for two programs designed specifically for photographers wishing to improve their practice and expand their business.
SAUL ROBBINS‘s unique teaching style meets students where they are with their career goals and desires, helping to create individual strategies and action plans that move their work and careers forward.
This 2 1/2-hour session will give participants an overview of the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence needed to prepare themselves and their photography for promotion to various venues such as juried calls, portfolio reviews, and business meetings
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This program is open to photographers of all levels. Participants are encouraged to bring 5–10 images and/or promotional materials for discussion if time allows.
During the day-long session, participants will engage in intensive discussions, exercises, and assignments that address: editing a portfolio for maximum impact; refining an “elevator pitch” for authentic introductions and effective networking; editing statements, bios, CVs, and cover letters; designing publicity materials; strategies for organization and task management; identifying opportunities; and how to follow-up effectively.
Workshop participants will gain hands-on experience refining their portfolios while creating strategies to promote themselves and their work with confidence, clarity, and insight into today’s photography marketplace.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This program is open to photographers at all levels ready to move their professional practice to the next level. Please bring 15-20 images from at least one body of work and current promotional materials (if available). Limited to 15 participants.
