Visions of Johanne: Aging of the Greatest Generation
Project Summary: Over the last 15 years I have documented the aging process of my grandmother, Johanne. These photographs depict her physical and mental struggles as her aging body increasingly defies her. From this collaboration, I have gained a greater understanding of my own mortality. In a time when people go to drastic measures to remain young, it is important to show this phase of life. With this grant, I would create an exhibition exploring the issue of aging in America.
