Charles Orr

My interest in photographing primarily aligns with the Humanist Tradition as exemplified by the work of Lewis Hine, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, the FSA & WPA photographers during The Depression and more recently Builder Levy, David Alan Harvey and Matt Black to name a few.

My photographs are “straight” and grounded in reality, capturing the diversity of human expression in sublime and challenging circumstances and near the outer margins of our material culture.  I seek to capture authenticity and the many facets of the human spirit.
