I sometimes ask my subjects to imagine that they are already a portrait and able to see the viewer looking at them and to look back with the same intensity that they feel is directed toward them. I’m looking for a conversation and/or a confrontation.
The multiple moments in time and multiple points of view that accumulate with my technique do not depict real time or real space, but they toy with them. They’re on the same electrical circuit. The viewer is on my mind.
