The New Orleans Photo Alliance is excited to announce the open applications to CURRENTS 2024, the annual PhotoNOLA showcase exhibition at Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The exhibition features up to 5 images per selected photographer. The exhibition is designed to give an overview of contemporary photographic practices and projects. The showcase will highlight 8-10 portfolios of diverse photographic work created by New Orleans Photo Alliance Members and will be open from December 13 through the end of January at Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

Liv Constable-Maxwell, Commissioning Editor at the London-based publishers MACK.
Her recent projects include Stephen Shore’s Modern Instances: The Craft of Photography; Tee A. Corinne: A forest fire between us, RaMell Ross’ Spell Time Practice American Body, Francesca Woodman’s The Artist’s Books, and Exteriors: Annie Ernaux and Photography.

- ELIGIBILITY
- Submissions are open to all photographers with current New Orleans Photo Alliance memberships. Applicants may join at time of entry.
- We ask that you do not enter if your work was accepted for the immediate previous year of CURRENTS. Please do not resubmit any images that have been featured in previous CURRENTS exhibitions. Different images from a previously featured series are eligible.
- Please note that selected artists typically have multiple pieces accepted into the show. Shipping will be the responsibility of the artist.
- APPLICATION AND FEE

The main criteria for selection will be the strength of the applicant’s portfolio.
- APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
You must be an active member of the New Orleans Photo Alliance to enter. Before jurying process begins NOPA team will verify membership status.
Submission Fee (for Members) : $25
Submission Fee + NOPA Membership: $60
Minimum pieces per entry is 4. Maximum pieces per entry is 10. Files must be in jpg format. Maximum file size 5 mb. Resize images to be 1800px on the SHORT dimension so that photographs are large enough to be viewed properly by the juror and used in promotion if selected.
CURRENTS will open on December 13th and remain on view through the end of January, 2025.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- By applying CURRENTS, you agree to accept the following rules:
- The New Orleans Photo Alliance (NOPA) reserves the right to reject incomplete or improperly submitted applications.
- You acknowledge that you are the sole owner and author of the photographs submitted with your application.
- You allow NOPA and Ogden Museum to feature your work without charge in print and on the web, in conjunction with promotion of CURRENTS and PhotoNOLA. NOPA recognizes your copyright for each of the images that you submitted with your application and agrees to provide the proper copyright notice on the NOPA website and in all NOPA press releases and related print materials. Upon request, the participant agrees to supply a high-resolution image suitable for publication by the media.
