I would like to extend an invitation to all members who are interested in the Programming Committee to attend a meeting Tuesday, May 21, 7:00 p.m. at the NOPA Gallery, 1111 St. Mary St.
The Programming Committee is responsible for developing
exhibitions, educational events, public forums, and exchange
programs with other similar institutions.
We will organize ourselves in advance of the FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE exhibit. Volunteers will be needed for various tasks, primarily to help hang the show on Wednesday, June 3 and and to host the gallery opening on Saturday, June 6. We will also get an update on the AUG/SEP show (CALIENTE) and begin preparing for the OCT/NOV exhibit (THE SPIRIT WORLD).
The next SIX SHOOTERS moderated panel discussion is slated for Wednesday, July 15. We need to discuss and decide upon which photographers we would like to see represent the following six categories: FINE ART, EDITORIAL, EDUCATIONAL, DOCUMENTARY, PHOTOJOURNALISM, and COMMERCIAL. Please bring your suggestions for each category or email them to me at 51Deardorff@gmail.com.
There will be a Lightroom workshop conducted by Seth Boonchai at the gallery on Saturday, July 11.
If you are unable to attend and want your ideas heard please email me @ thomnola@yahoo.com. I will present them for you.
Remember, your voice is the voice of the Photo Alliance so come and be heard. We have a lot to do and it doesn’t get done without you! Look forward to seeing you there. There will be pizza; BYOB.
