January at NOPA: Exhibitions and Call for Entry

New Orleans Photo Alliance begins an exciting new year with several exhibitions open through January and a new call for entry!

See what you missed during  the 16th annual PhotoNOLA. Check out these local photographic exhibitions open through January, 2022:

CURRENTS, NOPA’s annual member showcase, is at Ogden Museum of Southern Art through February 6, 2022. This show features photography from Photo Alliance members, including over 40 pieces by 10 artists. The Ogden is open daily, 11 am-5 pm, and will be closed New Year’s Day.

We, Women’s The Power of We, presented by We, Women and Photoville, is at the Lafitte Greenway through February 1, 2022. This outdoor exhibition features 19 projects produced by women and gender-nonconforming photographers from across the US. Work in The Power of We examines crucial issues on the minds of many Americans: immigration, education, climate change, race, motherhood and family, gun control, healthcare, religion, criminal justice reform, gentrification, sexual assault, and more.

See You at Home, a solo exhibition of work by 2019 Review Prize winner Vikesh Kapoor, is at the NOPA Gallery through January 29, 2022. See You at Home is themed around Kapoor’s questions of family, identity and personal history born of a trip to India, his family’s homeland. The NOPA Gallery is open daily, 11 am-4 pm, and will be closed January 1-3 for the holiday season.

The theme for NOPA’s winter 2022 juried exhibition is Still Life.

This exhibition will feature photographic work that captures a still life, or an arrangement of objects that are typically commonplace. Still Life, juried by Jane Fulton Alt, is scheduled to open on February 26, 2022.

The call to entry is now open through January 24. Click here to enter work for Still Life.
