Save Our Cemeteries (SOC) is holding its 17th Annual Cemeteryscape photography exhibit from December 13, 2008 through January 13, 2009. Cemeteryscape is designed to develop a public awareness and appreciation of the artistic and historic value of cemeteries. The exhibit will be on display at The Shops at Canal Place, 2nd Level. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. SOC invites the public to submit photos using the enclosed entry form and the criteria below:
1. Photos must be cemetery related and not previously shown in a Cemeteryscape exhibit, may be from any cemetery in the world, and may be any photographic medium – black and white, color, and/or photo-montage.
2. Digital copies of the photographs must be submitted on a disc to the Save Our Cemeteries office. Please save digital files in jpeg format at 72 dpi and 800 pixels on the longest dimension.
Title each image with: last name_firstname_title_print-type_image-size_entry#.
Do not e-mail submissions. Entries will not be returned.
3. Fees for entry are $10 for each individual photograph or $20 for four.
4. Submissions must be properly labeled with entry form titles matching photograph titles on the disc. The disc, completed entry forms, and entry fees are due at the SOC office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008.

Notifications of accepted photos will be mailed to photographers on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Submissions are not returned.
If your entry is accepted for the exhibit:
Chosen photographs must completely matted, framed, labeled, and submitted to the SOC office by Monday, December 1, 2008.
• Photos that are accepted must be matted in white or cream, framed in BLACK no larger than 20″ x 26″, and wired to hang.
• Photos will be for sale with SOC receiving 50% of the proceeds to benefit the cemeteries.
SOC is not responsible for lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected or illegible submissions. By entering the contest, entrants grant SOC the right to publish/use submitted photos in print or electronic form for advertising/promotion of SOC, and for commercial products, including, but not limited to SOC publications. Any photo produced will include a photographer credit. Submissions not conforming to the above guidelines will not be considered.
