For over 12 years, the New Orleans Photo Alliance has enriched the community of greater New Orleans, and the southern region as a whole.

Our Lower Garden District gallery and library hosts photo exhibitions that are free and open to the public throughout the year and serves as a hub for photographers and photography lovers of all interests and backgrounds to meet and share ideas.

Each December, we host the internationally-renowned PhotoNOLA festival, which transforms the entire Crescent City into a showplace for beautiful and powerful images, with over 65 exhibitions at venues all over town.

NOPA also supports  photographers with two annual $5000 grants, our Michael P Smith Fund For Documentary Photography and our Clarence John Laughlin Award. Over the years, we have awarded over $100,000 to photographers whose work shows a sustained commitment to artistic and documentary excellence. The recipients of each grant then share their work with our community by presenting a solo exhibition in our gallery.
