Dear Photo Alliance Members,
After months of preparation, our Board of Directors unanimously voted on March 30, 2010 to create a new leadership structure for our organization. This new structure includes a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer along with five new committee positions. They are Programming, Administration, Communications, Development, and Governance. The nominations that you submitted to fill these nine positions were gathered and voted on at that same Board meeting. The new officers are:
President – George Long
Vice-President – Erica Stavis
Secretary – Torie Kranze
Treasurer – Charles Megnin
Programming Committee Chair – Owen Murphy
Administration Committee Chair – Morgan Sasser
Communications Committee Chair – Jill Ensley
Development Committee Chair – Suzanne Richards
Governance Committee Chair -Kyle Petrozza
Our website will soon give you the opportunity to get to know more about these fine folks. Each of us is moving quickly to learn and grow into the responsibilities we’ve taken on. I feel confident that you will be pleased with the abilities and vision we embrace.
As your new president, I wish to thank those who worked so well together in creating a smooth transition to this new structure, which reflects a major step in the growth of this amazing organization. I think we learned a lot about ourselves during the process. The strong sense of community we’ve nurtured in these first four years is as tangible as ever. This is the best organization I’ve ever been a part of and I am genuinely excited for its potential.
Members of the previous Boards, as well as those named above, are profoundly passionate about the New Orleans Photo Alliance and the opportunities it creates for photographers. In the coming weeks, we will once again ask for your support in filling a wide variety of volunteer positions. If your life allows the time for such things, we would appreciate your participation.
