Congratulations to Judy Cooper, who has a retrospective opening at the New Orleans Museum of Art this weekend.

“Living Color” will run from Jan 19 – May 11, 2008 and is accompanied by a lovely catalog. A special 8×8″ edition of her “High Life” photograph, above, which was featured on the invitation and catalog cover, is still available as a Print Club incentive for New Orleans Photo Alliance members joining/ renewing at the Bromide Level ($250) or above.

Deborah Luster will be giving a talk at Tulane on her One Big Self: Prisoners of Louisiana project next Wednesday, 7pm at Tulane’s Freeman Auditorium. Check out Doug MacCash’s recent review of the show along with a video interview here.

Ellen Susan’s wet plate collodion workshop has been scheduled for March 22 & 23 at the N.O. Academy of Fine Arts. Registration will open shortly.

Bryce recently secured an ASMP grant to support a plastic camera workshop with Michelle Bates, who literally wrote the book on plastic cameras. When dates are finalized we’ll share the details.

Don’t forget that the Alliance Gallery is open Wed – Fri from 3-6 and Saturdays from 11-4. Our dedicated volunteers who are staffing the space would love to see your smiling faces, so please pop in & say hi.

Thank you so much to everyone who has renewed their memberships so far. We couldn’t be doing this without your support!
