The deadline for entry is Friday, March 25 for Southern Open 2011, a juried art competition of the Lafayette LA-based Acadiana Center for the Arts. The competition exhibit will be held from May 14 to July 9.
The competition is open to artists living in the Gulf Coast states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama and Florida.
This year’s juror will be Amy Mackie, Director of Visual Arts for New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center. She was previously a curatorial associate at New York’s New Museum.
