The Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans, the French language and cultural center for the Crescent City, is seeking submissions for its annual photo contest, with the 2012 theme being, “Ma Louisiane: What Makes Louisiana French?” The entry deadline is Monday, Nov. 5.
Submissions will be accepted for adult and junior (ages 14-18) categories. The entry fee is $15 per image for adults, and free for junior age entrants.
Prizes will be offered to the top three winners in each category. Cash awards will include $250 for the adult grand prize winner, and $100 for the junior category grand prize winner, in addition to a $100 donation to the latter’s school. Winning submissions will be exhibited November 14-24 at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the French Quarter.
Jurors will include several New Orleans area arts world figures, including NOPA member and photographer Owen Murphy.
