Bayou Rebirth is a new nonprofit in New Orleans that focuses on wetlandsplanting projects with volunteer groups, both visitors and locals. Theorganization also does wetlands education programs in the schools, as wellas educational tables at events and presentations about wetlands loss andrestoration in Louisiana.In March, Bayou Rebirth established its official headquarters at 1113 St.Mary Street, Unit B. Bayou Rebirth shares the space with NewOrleansDog, agraphic design and screenprinting business. For more information about BayouRebirth, visit us on the web at www.bayourebirth.org. Thursday, October 1 we will hold an open house from 5 – 9 p.m. for folksinterested in learning more about Bayou Rebirth or just taking some time tocome say hello and enjoy some wine and cheese. Visitors can also “adopt” apackage of wetland plants to be planted by volunteers in the future, and getan equal value of decorative plants as a gift!
