“Blue” exhibit deadline Oct. 26

  • by

The Center for Fine Art Photography of Fort Collins, Colorado is accepting submissions for, “Blue,” a juried photo exhibition which will be held in January 2011. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Oct. 26.

The center asks potential participants to consider, in choosing what works to submit, what the color blue symbolizes, as well how blue can illustrate a feeling without the use of words–or even, for that matter, color. “Blue is a color that runs deep with symbolism,” the exhibit organizers suggest. “One can see and feel blue. Blue has many emotional, religious, political and even gender connotations.”

Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb, who have been full members of the Magnum Photo cooperative since 1979, will serve as jurors.

The center will feature selected works in its Main Gallery exhibition, as well an online gallery. Organizers will also be giving cash and awards valued at over $1500 to selected participants. More information on the exhibit and submission requirements can be found at the Center for Fine Art Photography website.
