A few slots are still open for a four-day workshop on documentary photography, “Visual Storytelling,” led by NOPA member Debbie Fleming Caffery. The seminar, part of The New Orleans Photography Workshops series, will take place form Oct. 21-26 in the Crescent City.
The Workshops are billing the seminar as a hands-on affair that will prepare participants to approach the documentary field with an active eye, heart, and mind. Photographers taking part in the Caffery-led workshop will go into the French Quarter on shooting assignments. They will also be asked to take part in daily discussions and work reviews at Tujague’s Restaurant in the French Quarter, which will serve as the seminar base camp.
All applicants will be required to submit a portfolio for admission. Tuition is $785. You can read more about the workshop, and requirements for acceptance, at the New Orleans Photography Workshops website.
