Call for Entries: GULF

The New Orleans Photo Alliance seeks submissions for “GULF”, a visual exploration of the Gulf of Mexico, including but not limited to images depicting the seafood and maritime industries, the harvesters and their heritage, the beauty of the environment and all of the creatures that live in it.

This photographic exhibition will be about all aspects of our relationship with this magnificent body of water and the wetlands that surround it, how it nurtures and sustains us, how it has provided generations with a livelihood and how we have manipulated and abused its fragile ecosystem. This is not meant to be an exhibition focused only on disaster, but about the complex symbiosis between man and the natural world.

The exhibition will be held at the New Orleans Photo Alliance, 1111 St. Mary St., opening on August 14, 2010 and closing on September 18, 2010.

Entry Deadline July 1 at 11:59pm
