McKenna Museum: 11am doors open, 3:30 lecture, Dr. Willis will talk about one of her newest books, Michelle Obama, The First Lady in Photographs, followed by a book signing. Also, Dr. Willis’ two newest books, Michelle Obama and Posing Beauty will be available for purchase, courtesy of the Community Book Center.
NOPA Gallery: 5:30 doors, 6pm lecture, Willis will elaborate on The American Dream, the selection process for the exhibit, and some of her own work. Also followed by a book signing.
Named among the 100 Most Important People in Photography by American Photography Magazine, Dr. Deborah Willis is Chair and Professor of Photography and Imaging at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, where she also has an affiliated appointment with the College of Arts and Sciences, Africana Studies.
