PhotoNOLA 2021 is here! The 16th annual celebration of photography is December 8-12. Several events are happening both in-person and virtually, including an opening reception, the Virtual PhotoBOOK Fair, workshops, exhibitions and exhibition openings, artist talks, and more! As part of the PhotoNOLA line-up of events, New Orleans Photo Alliance presented two new exhibitions:
The New Orleans Photo Alliance Gallery will be hosting a solo exhibition of the 2019 PhotoNOLA Review Prize Winner, Vikesh Kapoor, during PhotoNOLA 2021. This exhibition, titled See You at Home, is themed around Kapoor’s questions of family, identity and personal history born of a trip to India, his family’s homeland. See You at Home open Thursday, December 9, 6-8 pm.
CURRENTS is an annual exhibition that highlights the diverse photographic work being created by New Orleans Photo Alliance members. It is a showcase exhibition designed to give an overview of contemporary photographic practices and projects. CURRENTS opens Friday, December 10, 6-9 pm at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, in conjunction with the PhotoNOLA festival. CURRENTS is curated by Michael Foley, an educator at the School of Visual Arts faculty and the International Center of Photography.
