Life in Stills,” a documentary that focuses the efforts of a photo shop owner and her grandson to save around a million negatives–ones that provided a good overview of the pre-independence and early years of the modern state of Israel–will be shown at the Jewish Community Center in Uptown New Orleans on Wednesday, March 13.

The film will be shown from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The New Orleans JCC is located at 5342 St. Charles Avenue.

The documentary looks, more specifically, at the effort to save negatives from The Pri-or Photo House, which had been slated for demolition. Around one million negatives of Israel, taken between 1936 and 1960, are part of its archives now. The National Archives of Israel is in the process of digitizing the negatives.
