New Orleans Airlift welcomes New Orleans area image makers for a special VIP experience at the Music Box Village. Members of the New Orleans Photo Alliance, New Orleans Film Society, and NOVAC are invited to Music Box Village’s first film experience, ELEGY HIGHWAY, a cross-disciplinary collaboration led by filmmaker-musician Carlos Grasso.
ELEGY HIGHWAY tells a dream-like story of American culture through the experience of a road trip as seen through the wide eyes of a Boy Scout on his way to Washington, DC. The original film is collaged from found footage, sampled media, personal footage and home movies, and live-edited to an evocative score performed by a 10-piece orchestra featuring David Lovering of The Pixies, Helen Gillet, James Singleton, and more.
On Friday, November 10, members of NOPA are invited to join members of the New Orleans Film Society, and NOVAC for a special networking/VIP reception before the screening experience. The VIP event includes early entry at 6PM with preferred seating and early access to food and bar. Carlos Grasso (aka DJ fLIM fLAM) will do a set and drummer David Lovering of The Pixies will perform a magic trick. VIP member-only tickets are $25 and only available online.
