HomeSpace of New Orleans will present a new exhibit, “I’ll Be Your Mirror,” an exploration of family through the eyes of seven contemporary photographers, at its gallery in the St. Claude Arts District, from October 13-November 18. An opening reception is set for Saturday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The exhibit’s curator is Crescent City photographer Jennifer Shaw, past NOPA President and current coordinator of PhotoNOLA, the city’s NOPA-associated, annual festival of photography.
Artists with work in the new exhibit include NOPA members Angela Bacon-Kidwell, Laura Burlton, Warren Harold and Aline Smithson, as well as Gordon Stettinius, Phil Toledano and Alison Wells.

The images in the exhibit include will representing a variety of artistic approaches, ranging from candid shots to staged, allegorical photos. All document creative collaborations between family members. According to the gallery, through this work, the seven photographers show the beauty, chaos, heartbreak and humor inherent in family relations.
HomeSpace is located at 1128 St. Roch Street, at the intersection with Marais Street in the city’s Claude Arts District, and is open Saturdays from 12-5 p.m., on Sundays from 12-3 p.m., and by appointment.
