A workshop on professional practice and planning for fine art photographers, led by New York-based veteran photographer Sally Gall, is set for Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 in connection with PhotoNOLA, New Orleans’ annual festival of photography.
The workshop will be held at the International House Hotel, located at 221 Camp Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The exhibit is open to anyone beyond the beginning stages of photography. Tuition is $250. The class is limited to 12 participants. For more information and event registration, please visit the PhotoNOLA website.
In the workshop, Gall will explore formal and technical matters, photo editing, career opportunities, exhibit venues and commercial applications.
Workshop leader Gall teaches photography, in addition to working as a fine art and editorial photographer. She has been the recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including two MacDowell Colony Fellowships and a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Residency. She has published two monographs, “The Waters Edge” (Umbra Editions / Chronicle Books, 1995), and “Subterranea,” (Umbrage Editions, 2005).
The eight annual PhotoNOLA festival, coordinated by NOPA in partnership with galleries, museums and other venues citywide, takes place Dec. 12-15.
