The Darkroom of New Orleans will host a workshop on Saturday, Jan. 29, on the essentials of picture framing.
The class is designed for visual artists with no prior framing experience and who want to gain the skills needed to create professional quality frames via The Darkroom’s DIY (do-it-yourself) Framing Studio. The workshop is to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and end at 5 p.m.
Topics covered will include:
* Design options for the presentation of art on paper and canvas
* Conservation framing techniques, materials and tools
* Matting, museum-mounting, dry-mounting, fitting and much more
The tuition for the class is $95, with an addition materials fee of $40. The Darkroom will require a $50 non-refundable deposit for enrollment. For more information, you may visit the workshop website.
