Have some unmodified shots Holga camera shots, taken with any type of modification, that you think are deserving of recognition? Here’s your chance: You can submit work for the juried Holga out of the Box International Exhibition, which will be held early next year in Longview TX.
There is only one day left to enter, however. The competition deadline, recently extended, is Friday, Dec. 17.
The competition is associated with Holga Inspire, an initiative co-founded by T.M. Lee, the creator of the beloved (and cheap) medium format cameras with the plastic lenses, to support the creative artists and photo professionals who use them. The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. The entry fee is $35 for the first five images, and $5 for each additional image, with a maximum of ten photos per entrant allowed.
The Holga exhibit will run form February 19 through March 25, 2011 at Longview TX’s TCC Photo Gallery. TCC show 25 prints in its physical gallery, with 25 more images exhibited in its online gallery.
Awards will include the following:
- Best of Show – $500 and a Holga TLR
- 2nd Place – $250 and a Holga N
- 3rd Place – $150 and a Holga N
The exhibit jurors will be Christine So, the PR director for Holga Inspire, and Longview-based photographer Tammy Cromer-Campbell.
