The Louisiana Heart Hospital is seeking regional visual art work–including photography, as well as mixed media—in connection with the development of an arts program at its facility in St. Tammany Parish’s Lacombe area.
Works may be submitted through Saturday, Oct. 20, via the Franklin, Tenn.-based art consultant Lin Swensson. (More information about Swensson here.)
The hospital is seeking art that reflects the culture of the region, and asks that all imagery be positive in tone, or art that will enhance the healing environment of the hospital.
Submitted work may include two and three-dimension art works, including photography and mixed media, as well as collage art, paintings, drawings, fibers and textiles, quilts and ceramics.
Louisiana Heart Hospital is a general acute care facility. It provides inpatient and outpatient care in urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology and general surgery. Its emergency department houses a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center.
The facility serves patients from St. Tammy, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes in Louisiana, as well as persons from South Mississippi and other parts of the Gulf Coast region.
