Lakeside Camera Photoworks will be hosting a “cash for cameras” event at its Metairie location this weekend, and at the same time offering classes at scenic sites in New Orleans, including Metairie Cemetery and the French Quarter.
The camera-buying event will be held on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event is being handled handled by KEH Camera of Atlanta GA, a major used camera dealer. KEH will make offers for film, as well as digital, equipment. The event will only be held at Lakeside’s location at 3508 21st St. in Metairie, not at its store in Mandeville.
Meanwhile, the classes scheduled include:
- French Quarter at Night, 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. The class fee is $85.
- Exploring Metairie Cemetery, 10-5 p.m. The class fee is $140. Particular attention will be given to black and white photography in this class.
