Look at Post-Katrina artistic community pre-screens Saturday

Work-in-progress features several NOPA members, photographers

City of Memory, a work-in-progress documentary by filmmaker Robert Adanto that focuses on how the New Orleans artistic community’s responded to and was affected by the flooding after Hurricane Katrina, will be screened at the city’s Contemporary Arts Center this weekend.

The screening will begin at 7 p.m. in the CAC’s Freeport-McMoRan Theater.

Robert Adanto made his directorial debut with The Rising Tide (2008), a documentary, exploring the contemporary art scene in China. The film has screened in association with several landmark exhibitions of Chinese contemporary at leading institutions including The Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. He heads the TV and film program at NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
