The ultimate experience for both serious collectors of art and the casual enthusiast, the 2010 16th Annual Poydras Home Art Show will feature the finest in fine art, original photography and crafts. An annual tradition in New Orleans since its inaugural event in 1994, the area renowned Poydras Home Art Show showcases luminaries in the local and regional art scene with hanging juried art exhibitions in its historic main building and non-juried art and fine crafts displayed under tents on the Home’s beautiful grounds located along the eclectic Uptown shopping district at 5354 Magazine St., New Orleans, Louisiana, 70115.
New this year is a juried photography exhibit co-sponsored by the New Orleans Photo Alliance (NOPA). This year’s judge for the both the hanging art and photography juried exhibitions is Jay Weigel. The show will feature more than 2500 original works of art by New Orleans and regional artists.
To submit an entry to be featured in the juried photography portion please send:
–a check or money order for $25(Members) or $35(to join & enter)
–a CD with five .jpg images,
–a short bio and statement about your work,
–and a list of titles of the photos with dimensions and print type, to:

Please mark the envelope and your check or money order memo space with “Poydras Home”. Checks or money orders will be the only means of payment accepted. There will be 30 photographers chosen by a panel of NOPA board members to participate in this show. An award of $500 will be given for the photograph selected as Best of Show as selected by the juror. There is no theme or particular subject matter; it is entirely at the photographer’s discretion. Each photographer will be allowed to show 3 framed prints(16×20 inches maximum size per image).
All proceeds, including any sales made at the show, as well as the submission fee will be split 35% for the Poydras Home and 65% for the photographer. The submission fees will be split the same way with 35% going to the Poydras Home and 65% going to the N.O. Photo Alliance.

Deadline for submissions will be September 30, 2010. Submissions may be dropped off at the gallery as well. No applications will be accepted after this date. Please make sure that your CD contains your 5 photos; incomplete entries or a CD without photos will not be considered.
You will be notified by October 8, 2010 if you are selected for the show along with specific instructions for the delivery of prints . All work will be insured by the Poydras Home for the duration of the weekend show.
