The camera is not always necessary. My work focuses on the use of glass negatives constructed out of materials that shift in real time during the print making process. This choice is meant to represent non-linear change. Transformation isn’t always smooth. It’s unpredictable. And often, it’s chaotic. Small changes can have lopsided effects. Sometimes it’s disastrous. Sometimes it’s favorable. The darkroom allows me the ability to (hopefully) catch that favorable moment.
