Miles B. Jordan

  • by

My name is Miles B. Jordan. I am a New Orleans native and recently completed an MFA in photography at the University of Alaska. My current showcasing work, “504-907,” is a daily comparison of South Louisiana and Interior Alaska using the diptych form to compare the two directly. I have also showcased works from my series “Shrouded Light” and “The Yellow Chair Series.” Shrouded Light is color infrared photography showcasing primarily landscapes across America. The Yellow Chair Series is a series of medium format color negative portraits of my friends from New Orleans and interviews about their beliefs about the city. My work has been likened to Southern artists such as William Eggleston and William Christenberry, and additional comparisons are Stephen Shore and Robert Frank, specifically The American’s work.
