N.O. Book Project Photo Request

  • by

The New Orleans Hope and Heritage Project is calling for color photographs of post-Katrina New Orleans for a book devoted to the celebration and preservation of New Orleans culture. Short essays divulge an insider’s perspective: from jazz funerals to Vodou, from Mardi Gras Indians to Mardi Gras, from Creole culture to the corner store. Color photographs of the rebirth of New Orleans will accompany the text while also establishing their own distinct narrative voice. Proceeds will go to the New Orleans Hope and Heritage Project, a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status. All contributions to the book are donated and are tax-deductible. For more information, go to: www.nolahopeandheritage.org. Among the contributors to the anthology are: Richard Ford, Andrei Codrescu, Mona Lisa Saloy, Anders Osborne, Sallie Ann Glassman, Valentine Pierce, Joshua Clark, Alex McMurray, James Nolan, Andy Young, Fred Johnson, and Tom Piazza. The book is currently seeking publication. Please submit files with longest dimension at 10 inches, at 72 dpi. Please submit images to leespeak@cox.net. For questions or concerns: (504) 452-6137.
