‘New Orleans: Elegance and Decadence” signing event Oct. 8

THNOC marks the 20th anniversary of Sexton & Delehanty’s photo essay book.

The Historic New Orleans Collection will host a presentation and book signing on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in connection with the 20th anniversary of NOPA member Richard Sexton and essayist Randolph Delehanty’s “New Orleans: Elegance and Decadence.”

The event, featuring the photo essay book authors at the place where their work was launched, is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the THNOC, located at 533 Royal Street in the French Quarter. Admission is free.

The event will include a presentation by Sexton and Delehanty on the book, which focuses on the Crescent City’s historic architecture and neighborhoods. It grants particular attention the effects of time on the city’s urban landscape and the lifestyles of its more colorful and creative residents.

Meanwhile, the authors will provide updates on their current projects, includingSexton’s forthcoming, THNOC-published “Creole World,” which will be the subject of an exhibition at the center next year.

“New Orleans: Elegance and Decadence,” (retail, $45) will be available for purchase at the event.
