Non-profit-geared workshop set for April in NOLA

In April, instructors from the Momenta Workshops company of Washiongton DC will travel to the Crescent City to host Project New Orleans, a workshop aimed at documentary photographers interested in working with non-profit organizations.

The organization’s third annual NOLA workshop will be held at the New Orleans Photo Alliance gallery, located at 1111 St. Mary Street in the Lower Garden District. The workshop will begin on Wed., April 6 and conclude on Sunday, April 10.

Momenta’s Jamie Rose and Chris Usher will serve as instructors.

Workshop participants will be asked to work with local nonprofits in order to help these groups document their work and volunteer efforts. Participation will nevetheless be open to anyone, from beginners in documentary photography to more advanced practitioners. Daily editing and coaching will be provided to all who attend.

Momenta stresses that this has been a highly popular workshop previously, so it recommends that people who want to participate register early.
