Odd Works
Juried By: David Rubin
Entries must be submitted by 8.25.2008

The New Orleans Photo Alliance is seeking atypical work that incorporates photography in innovative ways to be exhibited during October and November, 2008 at the New Orleans Photo Alliance Gallery.

We seek images or objects that use materials as diverse as paper, cloth, metal, wood, polymer, leaves, encaustic, etc, with photography as the main component of the final piece. (No LCD, video or projection)

The juror will be David Rubin. Mr. Rubin served as Curator of Visual Arts at the Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans from 2000-2006. From 1994-99, he was Curator of 20th Century Art at Phoenix Art Museum. Since 1980, Mr. Rubin has been a member of the International Association of Art Critics and, throughout the 1980s, he was a frequent contributor to Arts and Art in America magazines. Since 2001, he has been an international juror for the Florence Biennale. During his tenure at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Mr. Rubin organized numerous exhibitions, including “Photography Now”, an international survey of contemporary photography.

Dates of the exhibit will coincide with “PROSPECT.1 New Orleans, the largest biennial of international contemporary art ever organized in the United States” – and a great opportunity to have your work viewed by artists, curators and collectors from around the world.
