If you live practically anywhere in the Gulf Coast region, or you have connections to it, or you are maybe just into Halloween, you should have material to submit for this: NOPA’s “Masquerade,” a juried group exhibition set for the 2014 Carnival season.
The deadline for entry is Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.
The exhibit will be on view from Feb. 1 through March 30, 2014, at the NOPA gallery. An opening reception will be held on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 1, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Aline Smithson of the fine arts website Lenscratch will serve as the exhibit juror.
Entry is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Whether a member or not, you must enter and submit work online, via the NOPA website. Otherwise, what is sought are photos that involve the custom of being masked. They may involve family Halloween outings or Mardi Gras Day, or any other event or setting.
Anywhere from one to six images may be submitted, in jpeg format. Further specifications can be found at NOPA’s “Masquerade” call for entries page.
