Offbeat seeks Best Louisiana Music Photography 2013 entries

  • by

In celebration of the annual PhotoNOLA festival, New Orleans’ Offbeat magazine is seeking entries for a Best Louisiana Music Photography of 2013 content, with five winning entries to be published in the magazine’s January 2014 issue.

Photographers may send at many as five photographs by Sunday, Dec. 8, to Elsa Hahne, the magazine’s art director.

Favorites will be selected by the magazine’s readers. To enable this, editors will select one image from each participating photographer to show online at the magazine’s website. The voting will be promoted via the site’s Weekly Beat feature and its Facebook and Twitter feeds.

In their e-mails, those submitting work should put information about their websites or other places to find their work online.

Submissions must be sent as jpeg format attachments by midnight on December 8. The images must have been taken in the state of Louisiana in 2013 and have a music connection. Participants and featured musicians do not, however, have to hail from or live in Louisiana. Photos submitted for a first round must be at least 600 x 1000 pixels. High resolution files will be requested for the single, second round photos.

OffBeat is distributed for free throughout the New Orleans metro area, with copies also sent to paid subscribers throughout the United States and other countries. Photos are also published on the magazine’s website.
