The Photographic Museum of Humanity, an online museum project, is seeking submissions for its 2013 grant, an international photographic contest. The deadline for entry, originally February 18, has been extended to Monday, March 4.
Among the jurors for the contest are: Magnum agency photographer Martin Parr, Time magazine photography director Kira Pollack and Sebastián Liste, winner of the Young Reporter of the Year Award at Peripignan, an international photojournalism festival.
No entry fee is required. To participate in the contest, individuals must first pass a photo editor selection process. Those selected may then register with the museum site. Finally, individuals vying for prizes must upload a photo series with a maximum of 15 photos, along with text that explains the work.
Grant monies will be awarded as follows:
- First Prize: $2,000
- Second Prize: $1,000
- Third Prize: $500
- New Generation Prize: $500
- Public Favorite Prize: $500
Honorable mentions will also be awarded, although these will come with no cash prize. For more information, please see the PMH website.
