Scaling Mountains: Small Footprints on Big Glaciers – photography by Marc Pagani
The opening wine reception is April 25th from 7-10 pm at Mojo Coffeehouse, 1500 Magazine Street . Stop by after Jazzfest opening night for a glass of wine and photography.
About the work:
“Scaling Mountains: Small Footprints on Big Glaciers” is an exhibition of 7 toned black and white 24×34 photographs by Marc Pagani of tiny climbers dwarfed by huge mountains from around the world, including the Himalayas of Nepal, the French Alps, the Skidadalur Range in Iceland, and Los Torres del Paine in Patagonia. The images portray a huge contrast between the size of the climber and the mountain he/she is attempting to scale. The images themselves are larger than life and convey a sense of the beauty of these fragile environments which are quickly disappearing due to climate change – in essence, our “small” footprint is anything but.
The show is presented in association with the New Orleans Photo Alliance and marcpagani.com. It will be up for 4 months. The images are unlike any I’ve seen in New Orleans in a public setting, so I’m very excited to be exhibiting these prints.
Zoom in on Local Legends – photography by Greg Miles
Feast your lens on Greg Miles’ musical muses. Miles has photographed some of New Orleans finest musicians from Ivan Neville to Fats Domino. W Hotels and Greg Miles have partnered to donate dollars from artwork sales to NOCCA to keep musicians prospering in New Orleans. Don’t be late…NOCCA will be playing all night and you’ll also hear a little tune from Irvin Mayfield followed by Roy Young.
