Anna Tomczak: CJL 2017 Finalist

ANNA TOMCZAK: CJL 2017 Finalist
Lake Helen, Florida

The Polaroid Image transfer is a process of exposing the negative, peeling it from the receptor sheet, then pressing to infuse dyes into the dampened watercolor paper. The result is warm and muted color combinations.

In my imagery, animals, botanicals, objects and iconic artifacts are combined to present a mythical story through a layering of objects, memories and reflections. Working with the original 20 x 24 Polaroid Camera Transfers, I created a deck of 22 4×5 Tarot cards, with interpretive text. Printed decks are limited in edition to 25.
