The Programming Committee will meet Tuesday, February 17, 7:00 p.m. at the NOPA Gallery, 1111 St. Mary St.
The Programming Committee is responsible for developing
exhibitions, educational events, public forums, and exchange
programs with other similar institutions.
Two items need our immediate attention: the April/May time slot and Six Shooters. The April/May exhibit will be a member’s only Push Pin show and we need to work out the details. Six Shooters is planned for March 18 and we need to put together a team to manage our end of that event.
Looking forward: Our first Film Night will most likely be in June; we need a team to plan and implement that. The Aug/Sep exhibit needs to be planned; the overarching theme is “summer heat” so we need to take that and shape it into a very interesting exhibit. We will form a subcommittee which will define the theme further, write the call to artists, secure a juror, and work with the gallery on hanging the show. There is no better way to get to know your fellow NOPA members than working on an exhibit together. Lots of fun!
As always, new ideas for NOPA Programming are always welcome. If you are unable to attend and want your ideas heard please email me @ thomnola@yahoo.com. I will present them for you.
Remember, your voice is the voice of the Photo Alliance so come and be heard. We have a lot to do and it doesn’t get done without you! Look forward to seeing you there. There will be pizza; BYOB.
