NOPA is inviting all members to exhibit their latest work–and for past members to renew their memberships and show work–in the 2012 Push Pin Show, beginning Saturday, Sept. 8 at the HomeSpace gallery in New Orleans. An opening reception is set for 6 to 9 p.m.
No juror approval is required to show work, nor is post-Hurricane Isaac electricity and an Internet connection required to send in work. Instead, NOPA members who want to show work are only asked to to do the following:
- Pay a $5 fee for participation. The Alliance will waive the $5 fee for past members who renew their memberships on the night of the event.
- Otherwise, individual members who participate are asked to bring work that will fill no more than 650 square inches each (that is, two 16×20-inch spaces). The space will be available on first-come, first-serve basis.
- Show up for setup (push time) between 4 and 6 p.m. on September 8, opening night.
The show will run through Friday, Oct. 5.
NOPA will provide all necessary pins, as well as index cards needed for information on exhibited works. The work exhibited can be loose, matted or placed behind plastic sleeves.
HomeSpace is located at 1128 St. Roch Ave. in New Orleans, at the intersection with Marais Street. The gallery is open on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., Sundays from noon until 3 p.m., and by appointment.
