Photo Alliance member Ray Mikell is raising funds for the American Cancer Society in part through selling photographs he has taken in New Orleans over the past four years. He is raising funds in connection with his scheduled participation in the Portland (Oregon) Charity Half-Marathon, in affiliation with the ACS’s DetermiNation program for athletic events. The half-marathon will take place on Sun., Oct. 10.
Mr. Mikell will be officially raising funds in memory of a late friend and former newspaper colleague (Delta Democrat Times of Greenville MS), Emilie Lemmons of St. Paul MN, who died in Dec. 2008 after a long battle with sarcoma.
