New Orleans photographer and NOPA member Josephine Sacabo and poet Dalt Wonk will be at A Gallery for Fine Photography in the French Quarter this Saturday, Dec., 1 , for a show of photographs and book signing in connection with their collaborative book “Noctures.”
The event is being held in connection with the 7th Annual PhotoNOLA, New Orleans’ festival of photography.
The opening reception and cocktails event, and book signing, is set for 8 to 10 p.m. The evening is also billed as a celebration of the work of Keith Carter, Shelby Lee Adams and Louviere + Vanessa (the partnership of Jef Louviere and NOPA member Vanessa Brown).
The elaborately designed “Nocturnes” brings together a series of black and white photos by Sacabo with a series of poems by Wonk, her husband. Each poem is printed on a sheet of vellum, and, according to the publisher, “serves as a portal” to related photographs.
