Please plan to join us for the second annual PhotoGALA, a benefit party and auction in support of the New Orleans Photo Alliance.
New Orleans Museum of Art
Thursday December 4, 2008
7-10pm
Tickets are $20 and will be available at the door. The New Orleans Museum of Art is located at One Collins Diboll Circle, in City Park.
The PhotoGALA Benefit Party will feature a silent auction of contemporary photography including works by Jerry Uelsmann, Jack Spencer, Josephine Sacabo, Herman Leonard, David Halliday and many others.
The night will feature entertainment by the Preservation Hall-Stars Band, along with special burlesque performances by Fleur de Tease. Herbsaint, Dante’s Kitchen and NOLA Bean will provide refreshments.
Beverage choices include a vodka bar by Glazer’s, beer and root beer from Abita Brewery, wine from Cork & Bottle, and specialty cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum. In addition, raffle draws throughout the night will offer guests the chance to win books, posters, restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays, and much more.
“PhotoGALA promises to be a night filled with great photography, food, music, and chances to win or acquire original works of art and other goodies”, says Master of Ceremonies, Joshua Mann Pailet, owner of A Gallery for Fine Photography. “Bring your smiles and join us to celebrate the photographers and special guests from all over the world while supporting the year round events and programming of the New Orleans Photo Alliance.” This fund raising party offers art lovers a chance to celebrate the commencement of the Third Annual PhotoNOLA.
The photographs shown above by Thom Bennett, Herman Leonard and Ted Preuss are among the 50 prints to be featured in the auction.
