SlowExposures 2009 – A Juried Exhibition Celebrating Photography of the Rural South

Pike Historic Preservation announces a call to photographers for the Seventh Annual SlowExposures juried photography exhibit, September 18-20 and 23-27, 2009, at the historic Candler Field Museum in Williamson, Georgia (just one hour from downtown Atlanta.)

$2,000 in total awards will be given to 1st – 3rd place winners in two entry categories. Honorable mention ribbons will also be awarded. This year’s jurors are Annette Cone-Skelton (Director, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in Atlanta & an accomplished artist) & Tim Barnwell (Master Photographer based in Asheville, NC).

This year’s theme: “the rural South.” Photographers may submit up to four images in each of the two categories: The Southeast and West Central Georgia (see the Call for Entries form for the county-specific definition of this geographic area). $30 per entry category. All work must be original and produced within the last 4 years. Photographs may be color, or black and white, using traditional or digital processes.
