Sunday, May 17, 2 p.m., Panel discussion on The Art of Caring
Guest curator Dr. Cynthia Goodman moderates a panel on The Art of Caring with exhibiting artists Bob Gomel, former LIFE magazine photographer, who will preview his upcoming book of photographs taken for LIFE in the 1960s and 1970s; Timur Grib, who will recount his experiences over the past 25 years documenting the effects of a nuclear reactor accident at the Chernobyl Power Plant in Ukraine; Tatsumi Orimoto, who will present a performance based on his recent work, including the “Bread-Men” series, which explores aging and illness as it relates to himself and his mother; and Neal Slavin, the accomplished fine art and corporate photographer.
After the panel, every available photographer featured in the exhibition will be present in front of their works to interact with visitors.
