TUES April 24: Stranger with a Camera & Artist Talk w/ Io Cooman

Belgian photographer and photo editor Io Cooman is often confronted with issues around representation while working for major newspapers in Belgium and The Netherlands. In New Orleans, Cooman is working towards a better understanding of how to deal with these problematics as a professional.

In partnership with the New Orleans Photo Alliance (http://neworleansphotoalliance.org/), Deltaworkers will be screening the Appalshop film Stranger with a Camera (Elizabeth Barret, 2000). Afterwards, Io will give a short presentation on her work followed by a discussion with the audience.

Deltaworkers (http://deltaworkers.org/) is a nomadic artistic production and residence program that investigates the southern states of the U.S. as one of the last mythical places in the West.
