June 5th from 6pm – 9pm we have the opening reception of Louisiana Road Trip. If you missed this amazing and diverse show at Jazz Fest, here is your chance to see it in the intimate setting of the NOPA gallery.

More about the show:

“After Louisiana, nothing else is real.” Robert Penn Warren

(New Orleans) Throughout the history of Louisiana, New Orleans has been the light at the end of the road for most travelers. Though its music, food, and festivals have made the Big Easy the ultimate destination, the highways and towns leading to New Orleans are swelled with the people and cultures that make Louisiana one of the most unique and diverse places in the world. Native American, French, Spanish, African, German, Irish, Jewish, and Italian peoples have all shaped the culture in the parishes that make up this great state.

Juried By: Nick Spitzer, Producer and host of American Routes, American Public Media, Professor of American Studies and Anthropology, Tulane University, & Adjunct Research Professor of Anthropology and Urban Studies, UNO.
